Funeral Mass for Mary Agnes Polizzi, 99, of Indianola will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Indianola. She passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2020. Burial will be in the Indianola City Cemetery.
She was born in Indianola on January 9th, 1921.
She was a legal secretary for 10 years while living in New York City, and then returned to her childhood home, where she remained until her passing. As a parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, she was a member of the ladies alter society, served as the church organist, and also taught Sunday school.
She also did readings for the Methodist Church and Rotary Club.
Mary was a very talented actress, and was a member of the Mid Delta Art Association since 1979. She performed on stage in memorable roles, staring in the popular plays Arsenic and Old Lace, and Bye Bye Birdie. She was a very outgoing and loving person who loved her community, family and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Salvatore and Maria Teresa, and by her two brothers, Charlie, and Ignatius “Iggi”. She is survived by her two Nephews, James and Timothy who reside in California and Arizona, also one great nephew, Nicholas, and two great nieces, Allessandria and Terresina, and two recent newborns, a great great niece, Addison, and a great great nephew, Desmond.
