Mary Ann Boone Majkrzak

Memorial services for Mary Ann Boone Majkrzak, of Reno, Nevada and formerly of Memphis, Tennessee will be held in the Leland-Stoneville Cemetery on Saturday, April 28, 2018. The mother of five and recent bride of Clarence Crawford peacefully passed away in Reno, Nevada on Tuesday January 16, 2018. Services are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.

Mary Ann was born in Leland Mississippi on July 30, 1930 to W. J. Boone, Sr. and Mary White Boone.. She was always very active and loved playing bridge, bunco, and celebrating birthdays with her many girlfriends in Memphis, until she became ill and moved to Reno to be closer to her children. A true Southern lady who never met a stranger, she would often talk to people insisting she knew them and by the end of the conversation she would. While becoming the widow at a young age of John R. Majkrzak (1932-1982), her children were so happy she met Clarence and got married a short year and a half ago. They were wonderful together, and we are all grateful she had a trusted companion during the last days of her life.

Her beloved brothers, W. J. Boone, Jr. of Leland and Herman Thomas Boone of Starkville, preceded her in death.

Mary Ann raised 5 children in Memphis, TN and lived to tell about it: Rolan Harrison Dillard III (Katy) of Jackson, CA, Cathie Bigger-Smith (Marcus) of Harrison, ID, John B. Majkrzak (John) of Palm Springs, CA, Beth Majkrzak (Sean) of Dallas, TX and Michelle Majkrzak Abdella of Chauncey, OH. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Patrick Bigger, Alissa Bigger, Lyndsay Dillard, Clay Dillard and Alana Abdella.

She was always a Mississippi “girl” and will return to Leland one last time for the memorial services in April. The family requests donations be made to The American Parkinson Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.
