Mary Chu Chow

Funeral services for Mary Chu Chow, 90, of Greenville, will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017, at First Baptist Church with Reverend Guy Burke officiating. She passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 16, 2017. Interment will be at Greenville Chinese Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. 

She was born July 22, 1927 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Chu Dot Pun (Father) and Lum See Chu (Mother). Her parents were from the village of Sun Kai in Kwong Tung, China. She was married to Jim Lok “Lucky” Chow. She and her husband, Lucky, were owners of Lucky Food Store No. 1 and Lok Yen Restaurant. She was a member of First Baptist Church Chinese Mission. 

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; step-mother, Ho Fung Chu; sisters, Ida Yee (Sum) and Ping Some Chu; and brothers, Jim Chu (Emma) and Ling Chu (Margaret). 

She is survived by her children, Robert T. Chow (Stephanie) of Patterson, California, Frank S. Chow (Noelle) of Camarillo, California, Joy Wing of Vicksburg, Linda S. Yu (Anthony) of Greenville, Lisa R. Chow (Stephen Raptis) of Mesa, Arizona, Jim Lawrence Chow, Jr. (Mary) of Greenville; grandchildren, Percy Chow (Emily) of Dublin, California, Marcus Chow (Puja) of Livermore, California, Amy Joy Chow of Camarillo, California, Jonathan Wing (Rebecca) of Littleton, Colorado, Tyler Wing of Atlanta, Georgia, Arnold Yu of Greenville, Alyssa Yu of Greenville, Alex Yu of Greenville, Pamela Lembke (Jay) of Fort Payne, Alabama, Jim Lawrence Chow, III of Starkville, Jessica Chow of Greenville, Rosemary Elizabeth Chow of Greenville, and James Thomas Chow of Greenville; nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives.

There will be a visitation from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church.
