Mary Elizabeth Kent Cooper, 88, of Glen Allan, MS, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 14, 2025. A private burial will be held with close family in attendance, and a celebration of life memorial service will be announced at a later date. Mary Elizabeth was born to Leroy and Katie Chaney Kent in Hollandale, MS, on November 30th, 1936. She married Walter H. Cooper on August 12th, 1954.
Mary Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Katie Kent; husband, Walter (Okey) Cooper; daughter, Kaye C. Kiker; grandson, Dusty Cooper; sisters, Sarah Lee Cooper, Betty White, Lillian Vineyard, and Annie Tharp. Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Mary Ann Cooper; grandson, Jay (Dawn) Kiker; beloved great-granddaughters, Holley Beth and Ansley Kiker; and sisters, Katie Lou Evers (Charles) and Jean Bland.
Mary Elizabeth wore many hats as a homemaker and business owner. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, sister-in-law, and friend. She will be remembered for her spunky personality, with a hug always ready to give. She had an unwavering love for family and friends that will be missed.
Special thanks to her niece, LaTisha (Tisha) Kent, her advocate and caretaker. The family thanks all for the sincere prayers during this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
