Mary Helen Loftin

Graveside services for Mary Helen Loftin, age 91, of Greenville, Mississippi, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at the Greenville Cemetery with Pastor Brother Scott officiating. She passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025. She was born on November 23, 1933, in Drew, Mississippi, to James Ray Brown and Icle Brown.

Mary Helen lived a life rooted in faith, family, and love. A devout follower of Jesus, she was a longtime member of Temple Baptist Church, where she found joy and strength in her relationship with the Lord and her church community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Ray and Icle Brown, and by three of her beloved children: Louis “Bubba” McGovern, Cindy Stevens, and Theresa Brewer.

She is survived by her children, Randy McGovern, Tammey Penton (Donnie), and loving son-in-law, Mitchel Stevens; her grandchildren, Kathey Renault (Marcel), Cody Brewer (Georgia), Jessica Pugh (Taylor), Kelly Neal, Cassy McGovern, Sydney Mizell (Ethan), and Cameron Wade (Anna Katherine), Kory Penton; 17 great-grandchildren, including Cody, Dylan, Lila, Madison, Landon, Olivia, Ava, Miles, Mason, and Case; and 16 great-great-grandchildren. She is also remembered lovingly by Cassy’s seven children, along with extended family and dear friends who will continue to honor her memory.

Mary Helen will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her gentle spirit, and her deep devotion to her family. Her legacy lives on in the love she poured into the lives of those around her.

In honor of Mary Helen’s love of beauty and family, flowers may be sent to Boone Funeral Home to be placed at her graveside during the service.
