Funeral Mass for Mary Janette Garner, 80, of Greenville will be at 11:30 a.m., Monday, January 28 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She died Thursday, January 24 at Merit Health Central in Jackson. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mrs. Garner was born in Benoit, MS the daughter of Albert and Lessie Robertson and grew up in Cary, MS where she graduated from Cary High School in 1958. She worked for Dr. Marcelene O’Neal at the Greenville Pediatric Clinic for many years. Mrs. Garner was a selfless volunteer for many organizations throughout Greenville. She was well known in the community and was loved by everyone that came in contact with her. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Alton, W. T. and Jerry Robertson and by a sister, Shirley Theall. She is survived by her husband, John Garner of Greenville; two sons, Rusty Gardner (Tina) of Tahlequah, OK and Marty Gardner (Althea) of Macon, GA; brother, Tim Robertson of Batesville, MS; five grandchildren, Corey, Jeffrey, Thomas, Russell and Joseph Gardner and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Monday at the church.
