McKea Ervin Adcock

Graveside services for McKea Ervin Adcock, 88, of Leland and formerly of Jackson will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 2, 2021 in the Ludlow Cemetery. He died Monday, November 29, 2021 at his home.

McKea was raised in Ludlow, Mississippi, the son of Mike Ervin and Audrey Kea Adcock. He attended Ludlow High School where he was an Allstar on the basketball and baseball teams. After high school graduation in 1953, he attended Hinds Junior College and Mississippi State University. He served in the U.S. Army 1954 – 1956 and later graduated from Jackson State University with an Industrial Management degree. McKea served as a fireman with the Jackson Fire Department from 1960 to 1992. He was awarded Fireman of the Year in 1986. McKea helped organize and held a Life Membership in the Alligator Hunting Club in Scott County. He married Mary Lee Boone in 2002 and made Leland his home. He was a member of the Leland First Baptist Church.

McKea was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Sara Busby in 2001, and his son, William McKea Adcock in 2017. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Adock; a daughter, Sheryl Ann Speede and granddaughter, Annarose Muna, both of Portland, Orgegon; and 2 grandsons, Cameron Adcock of Greenville and Jacob Adcock of Hernando.

The family will receive friends at their home in Leland prior to Thursday and at the Ludlow Baptist Church from 9:30 – 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 2.
