A visitation for Michael Delan Johnston, 52 of Greenville will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, June 8 at Boone-Smith Funeral Home, 1580 S. Colorado, Greenville. He died Tuesday, June 5 at Delta Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
He was born in Greenville and attended school in Rolling Fork before enlisting in the U. S. Army. After his discharge he returned to Greenville where he was employed with the Greenville Police Department and then later with the Washington County Sheriff Department. For the last year he has been employed with the Leland Police Department. Michael was a member of Swiftwater Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, D. H. Johnston, sister Lynn Rager, brother, Howell Johnston and grandchild, Remington Johnston.
He is survived by five sons, Jonathan Johnston (Lacey) of Hollandale, Justin Johnston (Samantha) of Hollandale, Nicholas Dickinson of Gulf Port, Gavin Johnston of Hollandale and Joseph Johnston of Hollandale; two daughters, Tori Debow of Ft. Miers, FL and Faith Johnston of Hollandale; two brothers, Charlie Lester and Danny Lester both of Greenville; three sisters, Evelyn Bell of Rolling Fork, Phyllis Sullivan of Greenville, Marion Butler (Mike) of Columbus; mother, Dezzie Lee Johnston of Greenville and grandson, Gauge Johnston of Hollandale.
