Michael Mansour Shamoon passed away at age 74 at St. Vincent Infirmary, Little Rock, Arkansas. Michael was born on August 30, 1949, in Greenville, Mississippi to father Jimel Shamoon Sr. and mother Elizabeth Mansour Shamoon.
Michael Graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School and then went on to continue his education at the University of Mississippi. After pursuing his education, he was called home to Greenville where he joined the family shoe business. He Married his wife Jackie on November 19, 1972, they celebrated a beautiful 50 years of marriage in 2022.
In the 1980s Michael and Jackie relocated to Shirley, Arkansas, where they raised their three children- Michael Elias Shamoon, Summer Marie Robinson, and Elizabeth Lauren Ellington.
Michael was known for his selfless ability to love and give to others. He was a big advocate for education and encouraged not only his family but friends of the family to pursue their goals and achieve their highest potential.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents Elizabeth Mansour Shamoon, Jimel Shamoon Sr., and brother Jimel Shamoon, Jr. of Greenville Mississippi. He is survived by his wife Jackie Shamoon, Son Michael Elias Shamoon of Little Rock, Arkansas Summer Marie Robinson (Howard) of Farmington, Arkansas, and Elizabeth Lauren Ellington (Chris) of Knoxville, TN. Grandkids, Aiden Michael Robinson of Little Rock, Arkansas. Brooklyn Elizabeth Robinson of Farmington, Arkansas, and Tyleigh Rhea Shamoon of Germany. Brother David George Shamoon (Lisa) of Greenville Mississippi, Brother Charles Gerald Shamoon (Deborah) of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Cecelia Shamoon Thomas of Forest Mississippi.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Greenville Cemetery. Kim Ellington will officiate. Burial will be at Greenville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home of Greenville Mississippi.
