Graveside services for Mildred McCool Kemp Pierce, 99, of Sunflower, MS will be at noon on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. She died Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at her home. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mildred loved cooking, sewing, and quilting and especially loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild. She was of the Baptist Faith.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Isaiah McCool and Minnie Lou Akin McCool, and a son, James O’Neill Kemp.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth Kemp (Barbara) of Rockwall, TX; two daughters, Linda Inman (Bud) of Moss Point, MS and Glenda Mojica (Ben) of Cleveland, TX; seven grandchildren, Amy, Sean, Lisa, David, Micah, Adam, and Aaron; three great-grandchildren, Dustin Little, Jack, and Brook, one great-great-grandchild, Hadleigh and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Joe Gardner, Maria Parson, and Joyce Galloway for their fellowship and friendship.
There will be a visitation on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Boone Funeral Home in Leland. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to your favorite charity.
