Funeral services for Montez “Tez” Hubbard Hendon, 93, of Leland will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at First Baptist Church, Leland. She died Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Magnolia Gardens in Greenville. Burial will be in Leland-Stoneville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
Montez was born on June 30, 1929 in Mathiston, MS of Webster County. She was a lifelong resident of Leland, graduating from Leland High School and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Leland. She retired from the Bank of Leland and was a secretary for the First Baptist Church of Leland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leory Hendon; sons, James Thomas Hendon and Lee Hendon; parents, Zula and R.C. Hubbard; brothers, Meycle and Keycle Hubbard; sisters, Loresa Bariola, Bonnie Pugh and Sallie Sabbatini.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, David Bariola (Faye), Joe Bariola (Hilda), Sissy Gardner (Tony), Gayle Hadden (Paul), Bobby Hendrix (Debbie), Tommy Hendrix (Janice), Don Hubbard (Dana), Danny Hubbard, Amy Pugh, Mike Sabbatini and Roland Sabbatini (Diane).
There will be a visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Wednesday prior to the services at the church. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice or to the First Baptist Church in Leland.
The family would like to thank Magnolia Garden staff and Hospice of Delta Health-The Medical Center. The family would especially like to thank R.N. Latarsha Wilson and hospice nurses, Sarah Jones and Beth Jenkins, for taking care of our sweet Aunt Tez.
Pallbearers will be David Bariola, Mike and Roland Sabbatini, Tommy and Bobby Hendrix and Tony Gardner.
