Funeral services for Murray McCoy Strickland, age 71, of Leland will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 17 at Boone Funeral Home Chapel, Leland. He died Thursday, January 13, 2022 at his home. Burial will follow in the Leland-Stoneville Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
Murray was the son of Mearl and Anna Saulter Strickland and a lifelong resident of Leland. He graduated from Leland High School and was employed at Orkin Exterminating for 50 years. He retired as the branch manager at the end of 2021.
Survivors include a daughter, Missy S. Hearn (Blake) of Morton, Mississippi; 2 sisters, Dean Trahan and Jeanette Etheridge, both of Leland; and a brother, Troy Strickland (Sylvia) of Gretna, Louisiana.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Leland for one hour before the services on Monday.
