Myrtis Carmeans Fleming

Myrtis Carmeans Fleming, 87, of Rolling Fork, MS passed away April 26, 2018. Services will be Saturday, May 5, 2018, with burial at County Line Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 2:30 p.m. at Lake Washington First Baptist Church. 

She was born March 14, 1931 in Sallis, MS. She lived most of her life in the Mississippi Delta where she met her husband Eugene (Gene) and became a farmer’s wife, a homemaker and a mother of three. She was a member of Lake Washington First Baptist Church, Glen Allan, MS.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene “Gene” R. Fleming Sr., son Eugene R. Fleming Jr., her parents, Louis Wiley and Mae Willie L. Carmeans, brothers, George Carmeans and Nolan Wiley Carmeans, and sisters, Juanita C. Cooper, Geneva C. Mullens, Dorothy Carmeans and Imogean Carmeans. 

She is survived by her daughter, Debrah F Holley (Danny) of Rolling Fork, MS and son, David L Fleming of Greenville, MS, siblings Charles Carmeans of Alvin, TX, three sisters, Margie Bell Carmeans Ashworth of Wiggins, MS, Shirley C. Ford (Norman) of Florence, MS and Millie C. Mills of Wiggins, MS, seven grandchildren, seven great- grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and many, many nieces and nephews. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her family and friends. 

She had resided at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Rolling Fork, MS for 14 years. We are grateful for the care and compassion the nurses and staff showed. Thank you so much.
