Funeral services for Nancy Butler Siddon, 71, a life-long resident of Leland will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home, Leland. She died Friday, June 23, 2023, at her home surrounded by family after a long battle with lung cancer. Burial will be in Leland-Stoneville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
It would be wrong to say that Nancy lost her battle with cancer because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Nancy stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Nancy. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn’t mean she lost her fight.
Nancy grew up and spent her entire life in Leland, MS. For many years she owned the local sewing shop called Nancy’s Sing & Sew. Through that store, she served the community by making alterations for customers, teaching new seamstresses her craft, and willing to help anyone who asked. She made many longtime friends in and around the Leland community.
Nancy enjoyed having fun. Whether she was taking her kids on vacation, keeping score at little league baseball games, or playing bingo with her closest friends she always made the most out if it.
If you asked Nancy what her biggest successes were she would tell you her two kids. She was very proud of their families and the accomplishments they have made.
Mrs. Siddon is preceded in death by her parents Pat and Anita Butler, and her brother Jerry (Mildred). She is survived by her Husband, Mike Siddon of Leland; a son, Josh Siddon (Christine) of Southaven; a daughter, Danita Lloyd (Clay); 3 grandchildren (David, Grace, and Clayton) and 3 great-grandchildren (Keely, Everly, Rowan).
There will be a visitation one hour prior to services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
