Nancy was born October 5, 1931, to Grace and Crawford DeLoach in Leland, Mississippi. She became a Christian at a young age at First Baptist Church, Leland, where she remained a member until her death. She never veered from her faith and love for her Heavenly Father. She fell in love with Buddy Tate in the 9th grade, and they shared a deep and unending love until his death in 1981. She attended Leland Public School and was elected Homecoming Queen. She went to college at MSCW. Upon arrival at college, she went to each dorm room and met everyone in the building. She quickly became dear friends with all and was voted dorm favorite. Nancy and Buddy married on April 4, 1951. He entered the Army, and they lived in El Paso, TX and Alexandria, VA. He guarded the Pentagon, until they returned home to join the family farming operation.

Nancy loved life and greeted everyone she knew and many she didn’t, as if they were dear friends. She always wore a smile no matter the circumstances and loved everyone. Her love for family knew no bounds. She studied her Bible every morning and talked to Jesus throughout her day.
