Funeral services for Nancy (Ngan Shun) Mar, 78, of Alabaster, AL, and formerly of Greenville, MS, will be at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville, MS. There will be a visitation from noon until the service time on Sunday. She passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2026, in Alabaster, AL. Burial will be in the Greenville Chinese Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
She was born on October 8, 1947, in Chong Lou Da Cai Xi village in China. Nancy married William (Wai Fong) Mar in 1967 and moved to Greenville, MS, where they owned Better Food Market until their retirement.
Nancy was a member of First Baptist Church Chinese Mission, was a homemaker, loved to cook, garden, and entertain friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was also active in the Chinese Community in Greenville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Loon Fu Lau and Gwon Tai Ng; husband, William Mar; two sisters, Yin Yan Zhang and Yin Xing Liu; and son-in-law, Tony Sanders.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Linda Sanders; two sons, William Mar, Jr. and Jody Mar (Debbie); four grandchildren, Breanna Sanders, Willow Mar, Vance Gaiser and Pippa Gaiser; two brothers, Jin Tian Lui and Jing Toan Lui, both of Flushing, NY, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
