Neal (Neely) Grant Wright, 86, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Isola, MS on October 8, 1933, the son of the late Clarence E. Wright and Tera Wright. He moved to Greenville at an early age and received his education in Greenville Public Schools. He worked in construction for many years and later in retail sales. He was employed by McRae’s men’s department for many years before his retirement.
He was an avid fisherman, hunter and trapper, but the thing he loved most was spending time with his wife and family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved people and never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Curtis Wright of Greenville and Sammy Wright of Tupelo; three sisters, Vergie Doty and Florine Dodd Nichols of Greenville and Margie Cowan of Memphis, TN.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Jeanie Trainor Wright; two daughters, Angela (Tim) Hayes, Amy Wilkerson and a son, Neal G. Wright, Jr all of Greenville; five grandchildren, Bethany (Chris) Dobbins, Hunter Hayes, Sara Wilkerson, Joe Wilkerson and Neal G. Wright III and two great grandchildren, Christopher Hayes Dobbins and Millie Paige Dobbins; a sister, Tera (William) Cook of Searcy, AR and special sister-in-law, Julia (Sammy) Wright of Tupelo.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Greater Faith Tabernacle in Greenville.
