Ned Douglas Servadio, 78, of Leland, MS died at home on Thursday, February 16, 2023. Visitation will be Monday February 20, 2023 from 10:00 a. m. until 11:00 a.m to be immediately followed by funeral services at St. James Catholic Church in Leland, MS. Burial will be at Leland-Stoneville Cemetery.
Mr. Servadio was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Servadio of Shaw, MS. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Servadio and Edith Sabbatini, one son Joseph Eugene Servadio, and his brother-in-law, Bob Patrone. He is survived by his wife, Linda Curcio Servadio, two sons Ned Joseph Servadio (Holly) and Bill Edward Servadio (Rand); sister Betty Joe Patrone; along with four grandchildren, McKenzie Servadio, Ella Servadio, John Wallace Servadio, and Kadyn Servadio; and several nieces and nephews.
Ned graduated from Shaw High School and continued to receive an associate degree in Drafting from Mississippi Delta Community College. He then went to Nashville, TN, to receive his welding certification. He worked many years in the shipyards contributing to the work of barges and towboats with Mississippi Marine. After retiring from Mississippi Marine, he continued to work at Friedman Steele, in Greenville, MS.
Ned was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Leland, MS. Early in life, he was an avid sportsman. He loved hunting and fishing with his sons. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. He was always at every game cheering them on, and he was truly their biggest supporter.
The family is especially thankful for all of the health care providers, friends, family, and church patrons, who have been so supportive during this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to St. James Catholic Church or The National Kidney Foundation.
