Graveside services for Nelda Rodgers Childs, 87, of Yazoo City are at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 16 at Belzoni City Cemetery. She died Saturday, November 14 at Oasis Health and Rehab Center in Yazoo City.
Mrs. Childs was born in Holmes County moving to Belzoni at an early age. She married Lawson Childs making their home in Belzoni before moving to Yazoo City. Mrs. Childs had been a resident of the Oasis Health and Rehab Center for the past 12 years. She was a member of the Church of God church.
She was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by son, Roger Childs (Cheryl) of Yazoo City; 2 sisters, Loraine Upchurch of Hollandale and Marion Durr of Belzoni; brother, Malcolm Rodgers of Belzoni; 6 grandchildren, Christopher Childs, Dakota Childs, Aprille Kruder, Kelly Snell, Lary Hilton, and Kimberly Shelton; and 10 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 p.m. at Boone-Card Funeral Home, Monday, November 16.
