Funeral services for Nell Brady Williford, formerly of Greenville, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 7 at St. James Episcopal Church, Greenville with Reverend Brandt Dick officiating. She died on September 2, 2021 at her home in New Orleans, LA. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mrs. Williford was born on February 16, 1922 in West Point, MS. Her parents were Stacy Scott and Nellie Hurst Brady. She was raised by her aunt/step-mother Katherine Hurst Brady. She was a longtime member of St. James and was involved in many church activities. She was a member of the Junior Auxiliary and Greenville Garden Club. Mrs. Williford loved her friends, church family, neighbors, garden club, and bridge group. She will be missed and remembered fondly by all who knew her.
Mrs. Williford is survived by two sons, John Austin Williford (Renee) of Memphis, TN and Jeffrey Oliver Williford (Leslie) of Edmond, OK; one daughter, Karine “Sissy” Williford du Quesnay (Clay) of New Orleans, LA; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Mrs. Williford is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Talmage Young Williford Jr., her parents, and a brother, John William Brady.
A visitation will be held one hour before services at the church on Tuesday. The family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
