Funeral services for Nell Hall Holt Prather, 94, of Leland will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Boone Funeral Home, Leland. She passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Indywood Personal Care. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Indianola under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
She was born in Houston, TX graduating from high school in Crowley, LA. She then received a bachelor degree in Music Education from Mary Hardin-Baylor College in Belton, TX. She married Carey Prather in Crowley, LA moving to Leland in 1963 where they were engaged in farming. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and was a volunteer at Autumn Leaves Nursing Home where she led a bible study for over 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Steven Prather. She is survived by a son, Carey Bryan Prather, Jr. (Maria) of Starkville; daughter, Laura Prather Holderbaum (Rod) of Lewsiberry, PA; daughter-in-law, Kay Prather of Leland; brother, Richard Holt of Cleveland, TX and six grandchildren.
