Funeral services for Nelle Crowell Rowell, 91, of Birmingham, AL and formerly of Greenville will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, Greenville. She died Monday, May 30 at Meadowbrook Extended Care, Birmingham, AL. Burial will be in Greenville Cemetery.
Mrs. Rowell was born in Four Mile, MS on September 13, 1924 to Bertha and Jim Tom Crowell. After marrying Harry H. Rowell in 1948, they moved to Greenville in 1951 where she remained until moving to Birmingham in 2011. She was a loyal employee of Production Credit Association for thirty years. She was also a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church in Greenville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Hill Rowell, Jr. She is survived by 2 daughters, Ellen Thompson and Anne Beevers, both of Birmingham, AL; son, Harry Rowell III of Rogers, AR; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and her loving sister, Alice Allen of Germantown, TN.
Mrs. Rowell was blessed to have two kind and devoted caregivers, Lorraine Snow and Sharon Manning.
There will be a visitation one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to Firehouse Shelter, 1501 3rd Avenue North, Birmingham, AL 35203.
