Funeral services for Nellie Ousley Rivers, 92, of Arcola will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 20 at Boone Chapel, Hollandale. She died Saturday, June 16 at Mississippi Care Center. Burial will be in the Hollandale City Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
She was born in Monroeville, AL where she received her education. She married Johnny Clyde Rivers and they made their home in Darlove until moving to Arcola. Nellie was employed with Greenville Mills for 60 years. She was a member of the Hollandale Church of God.
Nellie is preceded in death by her parents, Barney B. Ousley and Ophelian Ousley; husband, Johnny Clyde Rivers; sisters, Euna O. Scarbrock, Gladys Graham and Martha Walters; and brothers, Otis Ousley and James “Bubba” Ousley.
She is survived by two sons, Johnny Rivers (Melba) of Mantee, MS and Kenny Rivers (Ann) of Arcola; daughter, Maxine Williams (Johnny) of Leland; 7 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
There will be a visitation from 6:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 19 at Boone Chapel, Hollandale.
