Graveside services for Nickey Doyle McKinnon, 74, of Greenville will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Liberty Cemetery in Kosciusko, MS. He passed into His Savior’s arms on Monday, October 23, 2023. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
He was the son of Frank McClain McKinnon and Mary Olivia Summers McKinnon. He was born in Kosciusko, MS on March 24, 1949. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Frank and Mary McKinnon, his grandparents, Homer and Tess Gordon Summers, and his grandparents, Frank Davidson, and Ola McMillon McKinnon.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Dianne McKinnon; two sons, Nick Shane McKinnon (Sheila) and Clint McClain McKinnon; a brother, Tommy Jerald McKinnon (Sally); a sister, Debbie Lynn McKinnon Nix; ; two grandchildren, Christian Hittle (David) and Toni McKinnon. He also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Aston Hittle and Beckham Hittle and his beloved companion, Shadow.
Nickey was a welder by trade, he was a character and liked to play pranks on everybody. He loved playing with his grandchildren, playing ball, golf, and fishing. Most of all he loved finding things that people had thrown away and refurbishing those things into something new.
He was strong in his faith and was looking forward to the day when he would go home to be with his Lord. We will miss him greatly.
There will be a short visitation at the cemetery beginning at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
