O. G. Branning

Funeral services for O.G. Branning, 88, of Greenville formerly of Hollandale will be at noon on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Boone Funeral Home in Greenville. He passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2020. Burial will be in the Hollandale City Cemetery, under the direction of Boone Funeral Home.
 
O.G. was born April 26, 1931 in Bentonia, MS to Henry and Annie Mae Branning.
 
He was in the Dixie Division of the National Guard when the Korean Conflict started and his division was activated January 16,1951 and sent to Korea. He was honorably discharged March 12, 1959 as a Corporal of the U.S. Army.
 
O.G. worked at Greenville Mills as supervisor for 48 years.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Annie Mae Branning, a daughter, Sherry Branning Sims, a son, Robert E. McMichael, 10 of his siblings, and also Geraldine Ebberman and Ruby Branning.
 
O.G. is survived by his wife Ruth Ethridge Branning, his children, Oliver “Mack” Branning (Michele), John McMichael, Barbara McMichael, Lewis Branning (Sharon), Everett “Jr.” Sims, LeAnne Hughes (Jeremy) and Mark Ethridge; brothers, Tommy Branning and Jackie Branning and his sister Elaine Bechtelheimer and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
 
There will be a visitation from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home prior to services.
