Olin Earl Grimes

Funeral services for Olin Earl Grimes, 86, of Leland will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Boone Funeral Home, Leland.  He passed away Saturday, September 28, 2019 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson after a brief illness.  Arrangements and services will be concluded at the funeral home with burial to follow at Leland-Stoneville Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
 
He was born in the Boyle/Skeen area of Bolivar County, Mississippi on July 20, 1933, to Thomas Eugene Grimes and Florence Nola Beevers. He lived and worked all of his life in the agricultural industry of the Mississippi Delta and was a valued farm manager and employee to several well established farms in and around the Washington County area. He enjoyed his work, fishing, gardening, metal fabrication, watching television, and working on tractors; but most of all, he dearly loved his family.
 
Survivors include his four children, Kathi Williams (Will) of Leland, Joyce Frazier (Mike) of Yazoo City, Marilyn Smyly (Bernie) of Tupelo, MS and Tracy Pinkston (Scott) of Oxford, MS; eight Grandchildren, Carrie Parrish, Chasity Echols, Michael Frazier, Leslie Robinson, Ethan Smyly, Seth Smyly and Kain Pinkston; five Great Grandchildren, Anna Carol Echols, Gracie Woods, Russ Powell, Michael Thomas Frazier and soon to be born Adelyn Mae Frazier and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Winnie Carver Grimes; his parents; four brothers, Frank, Oliver, Ernest and Paul Grimes and two sisters, Dixie Shaffer and Annie Tubbs.
 
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Frazier, Ethan Smyly, Seth Smyly, Kain Pinkston, James Clolinger and Mike Sellers. 
 
There will be a visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.  Their good friend Bro. James Willcutt will be officiating.
