Funeral services for Percy Lee Kuhn, 92, of Greenville will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 30, 2016 at First Baptist Church Chapel, Greenville. He died Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Legacy Manor Nursing Home, Greenville, Mississippi. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Kuhn was born in Isola, Mississippi on September 8, 1923 the eldest son of Wardie and Sadie Kuhn. He attended Greenville High School and served two tours in the United States Navy, where he went to school for electronics. He used this knowledge in Greenville as engineer of WJPR, WIQQ, WNIX, WBAQ, WXVT-TV, AND WABG-TV. He was a faithful member of the Steadfast Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church, where he and his wife taught children’s Sunday School for 36 years. Mr. Kuhn was also pivotal in establishing and maintaining the radio and television ministry at First Baptist Church
.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Colleen Guest Kuhn; four brothers, Marvin Kuhn, David Kuhn, Gene Kuhn, and Perry Kuhn; and his nephew, Charles Kapp, and his beloved niece Nina Kuhn Martin. He is survived by his daughter, Lanette Kuhn of Greenville, one sister, Sally Kapp of Gulfport, Mississippi; four sisters-in-law Vyrl Nelms, of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Martha Kuhn, of Greenville, Veralyn Oden of Hamburg, Arkansas, and Opal Guest of LaPort, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends one hour before the services Saturday in the First Baptist Church Chapel
