Funeral services for Reginald Rougelot Hovas, 82, of Greenville were held on June 30. He died Tuesday, June 26 after a sudden illness. Burial was in Beulah Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Reggie was born in 1935 at Four Mile Lake, MS. A civil engineer, he graduated from Mississippi State University. He owned and operated Hovas Construction Company for more than 50 years.
An accomplished marksman, Reggie enjoyed wing shooting as well as competitive shooting. He was ATA State Champion of Mississippi and won various shooting tournaments in Europe.
Reggie was an unconventional man with a sharp wit who lived by his own rules.
Beloved husband of the late Jane Conn Hovas, he is preceded in death by his wife, son, Stephen Conn Hovas and brothers, Joseph and Arthur Hovas. He is survived by daughter, Katherine Hovas of New Orleans, son, Richard Keith Hovas (Elizabeth) of Dallas, granddaughter, Laura Hovas Richman of New York, grandson, Reginald Andrew Hovas of Dallas, and sister, Agnes Hovas Farrish of Huntsville, AL.
