Graveside services for Retha Hamilton Smith, 83, of Greenville will be Friday, June 5, 2020 at Leland-Stoneville Cemetery. She passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mrs. Smith was born on April 13, 1937 at home in Edinburg, MS to Floyd and Bertie Burkes Hamilton. On October 1, 1954 she married James W. Smith and they made their home in Leland. She had been a resident at Washington Care Center for the last 13 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2019. She is survived by four daughters, Tammy Watson of Arcola, Tina Manning (Rex) of Leland, Kim Rutledge (Todd) of Greenville and Pam Handly (Philip) of Arcola; a son, James “Jimmy” Smith II of Ocean Springs; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She also leaves close friends at the nursing home, Ollie Taylor, Roxie, Melissa and Kiki.
