Rex Livingston

Graveside services for Rex Livingston, 92 of Leland will be held at a later date. He passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2020. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.

Rex was born in Stoneville, Mississippi on December 5, 1927, the son of the late Kels and Dollie Livingston. Upon graduating from Leland High School, Rex entered the U. S. Army and served with the occupying forces in Japan after World War II. After leaving the Army, he attended Mississippi State University where he earned both a bachelor and masters degree in agronomy. He farmed for many years and was a leader in recycling plastic chemical containers.

Rex leaves a wealth of memories, his sense of humor, and his never ending support of his family and friends. He was a faithful member of the Leland United Methodist Church and was an active member of the Leland Lion’s Club for many years.

He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Reba Maugh and his brother, Troy Livingston. He is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Nell Tate Livingston; daughter, Beth (Jerry) Williams; son, Darrell (Patti) Livingston; four grandchildren, Kathryn (Robert) Belville, Tate (Amber) Williams, Rex Livingston and Parker Livingston; and two great grandchildren, Carson Belville and Krislyn Williams.

The family requests memorials be made in his memory to the Leland United Methodist Church.
