We will gather to celebrate the life of Rhonda Kay Trainer at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Temple Baptist Church. There will be a visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Rhonda passed away peacefully at her home on October 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Rhonda was born on November 3, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Douglas Lee Gordon, Sr., and Ivy Ann Gordon. She made Greenville, Mississippi, her home, building a life filled with love, family, and faith. A devoted member of Temple Baptist Church, she cherished every moment with Pastor Arthur Scott and her church family. She loved taking long Saturday car rides with her beloved husband, Frankie, and treasured her daily talks with her cousins, Connie McGary and Diane Johnson, who were her very best friends.
Through it all, her family was Rhonda’s greatest motivation. Their love, presence, and support carried her through each day. Her granddaughter, Emma Kate Bilbo, brightened her spirits daily. Rhonda found her greatest joy in being a mother, grandmother, and wife.
She is welcomed into Heaven by her parents, her siblings James Roland Gordon and Barbara Ann Homan, and her dearest son, Scottie Lee Smith. She will be dearly missed by her husband of 37 years, Francis “Frankie” Earl Trainer; her children David Bilbo Jr. (Emily), Jonathan Smith, Robert Trainer (Kimberly), Frances Jenkins (John Harmon), Christie Howard (Michael), and Timothy Trainer; her brother Lee Gordon Jr. (Paulette); and her grandchildren: Katie, Kirsten, and Dalton Trainer; Max, River, Alex, and JT Harmon; Cheyenne, Joseph, and Elizabeth Ratliff; Kimberly, Robert, and Gracie Trainer; Courtney Norris; and Emma Bilbo. She is also remembered by a loving circle of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort knowing she is no longer in pain but resting in the arms of Jesus, at peace, reunited with loved ones, and home at last.
