A private service for Richard Sanders, 66, of Leland will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Indianola. A loving father and grandfather, he passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
Richard was born on September 19, 1953 in Indianola, Mississippi to Thomas and Mildred Sanders. He graduated from Indianola High School and attended Mississippi Delta Community College.
After graduation, he worked with his father at Standard Parts in Leland, Mississippi. He then went on to co-found Leland Tire where he worked until retirement. Mr. Sanders was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Sanders is survived by his two daughters, Farrell Dowling of Marietta, Georgia and Carrie Janous of Leland, Mississippi; two brothers, Tommy Sanders and William “Scooter” Sanders; mother, Mildred Sanders and five loving grandchildren, Connor Janous, Caleb Janous, Cooper Janous, Baylee Oakes, and Millie Oakes.
Mr. Sanders is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Sanders of Indianola, Mississippi and nephew, David Sanders of Indianola, Mississippi.
