Rita Joy Everitt, 84, of Greenville died Monday, July 3 at Methodist University in Memphis, TN. There will be a visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 5 at the family home, 209 W. Bayou Road. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mrs. Everitt was a native of England and came to America in 1950. She was the daughter of George and Evelyn Smith Provis. She received her education in England and attended a trade school to be a seamstress. Mrs. Everitt also managed rental properties.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Gwenlyn, brother, Grayam Provis, a daughter, Barbara Nelson and a grandson, Donnie Boyd. She is survived by 2 daughters, Sherrie Ivy and Becky Lowell; a son, James Everitt; 2 brothers, Barry Provis and John Provis; a devoted companion, Terry Templeton; 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
