Robert Gordon Boozer

Robert Gordon Boozer was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on October 28, 2022 at the age of 75 at his home in Benoit, Mississippi. Gordon was born in Harlingen, Texas and moved with his family to Franklin, Louisiana around the age of 10. He graduated from Hanson High School in 1965 of which he was very proud. Gordon always carried a small copy of his high school diploma along with his pilot’s license in his wallet, which were two of his most cherished accomplishments. He learned how to fly under the guidance of his father in-law, Scott Tibbs, who worked in agricultural aviation. In 1975, Gordon started Ag Air flying service in Scott, MS. He was also a member of the MS Areal Applicators Association. Gordon served as a deacon of Emmanuel Baptist Church and president of the board for the Arms of Mercy, Inc. – Help for substance abuse. Gordon had a great love for aviation, horses, hunting and fishing, gardening and his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family immensely. He was adored and respected immensely by his family as well.

Gordon is preceded in death by his parents William Gordon Boozer and Rita Mae Boozer along with his sisters Sharon Bruno and Brenda Henson. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kay; daughter, Neely Tonos (Mickey); son Casey Boozer (Amanda); son Corey Boozer (Katherine) and six grand-children, Brandon (Julia) and Taylor Boozer, Abby and Garrett Tonos and Leanna and Lauren Boozer.  

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Greenville, MS. Visitation will start at 10:00am to be followed by a celebration of Gordon’s life at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to Arms of Mercy, Inc., P.O. Box 4691, Greenville, MS 38704.
