Funeral services for Robert Wayne Weeks, 79, of Greenville will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. He passed away Saturday, September 8 at Delta Regional Medical Center. Burial will be in County Line Cemetery in Glen Allan under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mrs. Weeks was born on August 25, 1939 to Earnest and Nettie Weeks. He grew up and attended school in Glen Allan. He was in the National Guard, then he worked construction in Jackson working on the airport and the reservoir. Mr. Weeks later moved to Greenville where he worked for the Lummus Gin Company traveling and repairing gins. In 1964 he went to work for C. A. Spragins on the Refuge Plantation. He later farmed on his own in Greenville until he retired.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Nettie Weeks and by his sister, Ramona Weeks Jones.
Mr. Weeks is survived by a son, Todd Weeks (Cindy) of Greenville; daughter, Kim Weeks of Pontotoc; step son, Eric Bender (Danielle) of Friendswood, TX; four grandchildren, Wade Blaylock (Victoria), Jenny Weeks, Tyler Weeks, and Atlee Wood; and six great grandchildren, Anna Grace, Maddie, Matthew, Hatley, Tanner and Gradyn.
There will be a visitation one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Mr. Weeks will be greatly missed and was loved.
