Funeral services for Robert William Newton, Sr. age 71 of Holcomb, MS will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 25, 2022 at Boone Funeral Home, Leland. He passed from this life on February 21, 2022, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Grenada, Mississippi. Burial will be in the Hollandale City Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
He was born in Hollandale, Mississippi on October 10, 1950. He served in the National Guard. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. He loved riding the side by side on the creek with his friends. He always had a helping hand to lend and was a great friend to have. He was an amazing father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his father George Elgin Newton, his mother Anne Louise Beckwith, his sister Donna Newton and his great grandson Noah Essary. He is survived by 3 children, Robert William Newton, Jr. and wife Rachelle of Springfield, MO, James Wesley Newton of Holcomb, MS, and Brandy Deutsch and husband Jarred of Terre Haute, IN: 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and brothers Allen Newton of Holcomb, MS and Scott Newton and wife Peggy of Raymond, MS.
There will be a visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
