Rosemary was born on December 23, 1929 in Inverness, MS.
While her husband was employed at Texas Gas Transmission Corporation near Benoit, Rosemary raised her children attending Benoit Union Church. She loved taking care of her family and all the neighborhood children who hung out with her own. Always known as a wonderful cook, there were always treats for all the kids. After the family moved to Greenville with her husband’s transfer in 1968, Rosemary worked as a furniture salesman at Sears for 14 years and at United Insurance for 4 years. After her husband became ill with cancer, Rosemary retired to care for him. She nursed him back to health many times over a period of years all while still trying to keep her family close with holiday meals she prepared well into her 80’s.
In 2014 Rosemary became a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Kenneth Hughes in 2010, and a son Ken Hughes, Jr. in 2015.
