Graveside services for Ruth Nipper Thiry, 89, of Tupelo and formerly of Greenville will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Greenfield Cemetery in Glen Allan, MS. She died on Sunday, July 23, 2023, in Tupelo. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Ruth was born in Sikeston, MO on March 28, 1934, the youngest of 4 children to William Richard and Anna Garner Nipper. On October 11, 1973, she married Norville Thiry in Greenville, MS. She worked with Regions Bank until retiring as branch manager.
She is preceded in death by her husband Norville in March of this year, her siblings, Billy Nipper, Mary Alice Dowdy, and June Inmon, and her son, Richard Lynn Kell.
She is survived by her children, Debra Kell New (Howard) of Glen Allan, MS, Diane Martin Yielding (Tim) of Ratliff, MS, Judy French of Oakdale, CA, Carol Uballe (Pete) of Riverbank, CA, Mitch Thiry (Ursula) of Piedmont, OK and Marc Thiry (Denise) of Berryville, AR; fourteen grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Glen Allan Methodist Church.
