Funeral services for Sally White Freeman, 82 of Greenville, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 16, 2023, at First United Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. She passed away peacefully, on October 12, 2023, at her home. Burial will be in the Greenville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Sally was born May 6, 1941, in Greenville. She was the daughter of the late Helen Vaught White and the late J.E. White. She was a lifelong resident of Greenville and graduated from Greenville High School. Sally was a legal secretary for the Campbell DeLong Law Firm for 33 years. She then worked for 14 years for the United States District Court with Judge Allen Pepper. She was a lifelong, loyal member of the First United Methodist Church.
In addition to her family, Sally delighted in decorating, entertaining, and watching movies. She was a stickler with the English language and always instilled in her family the importance of high standards, a solid work ethic, and strong moral character.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Joe White, and sisters, Nancy White Reed, Gloria Bell White, and Ivy Sue White.
Sally, Yummy or Yum, as she was known to her family, is survived by her husband of 61 years, Guy Freeman, lovingly known as “Husband”; daughter, Kelly Freeman Tucker of Greenville, and sons, Chip (Misty) Freeman of Memphis, TN, and Chad (Sharon) Freeman of Greenville; a brother, Jim (Sarah) White of Birmingham, AL. She leaves behind five grandchildren, Barrett Freeman of Nashville, TN, Ellison Freeman of Memphis, TN, Michael Tucker, Kathleen Tucker, and Sally Beth Freeman all of Greenville.
