Funeral services for Sammy Eugene Weeks, Jr., 59, of Leland will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 22, 2021, at Boone Funeral Home, Leland. He passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at Delta Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
Sammy was born in Hollandale, MS moving to Leland at an early age where he attended Leland Public Schools. He was employed as a mechanic with Triple D Diesel for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sammy Eugene Weeks and Glenda Mitchell Weeks, brother, Carl Weeks, paternal grandparents, Leroy and Leila Weeks, and maternal grandparents, Glen and Maybelle Mitchell.
He is survived by two sons, Duke (Linda) Weeks of Ludowici, GA and Alvin Weeks of Leland, MS; brother, Billy (Ellen) Weeks of Greenville; two sisters, Judy Burdett of Ridgeland, MS and Teresa (James) Bledsoe of Stoneville, MS; and four grandchildren, Jordan (Jordy) Peters, Dustin Stephens, Brian Weeks and Angel Weeks.
Honorary pallbearers will be Triple D Diesel employees.
There will be a visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Monday at the funeral home.
