Sandra Kay Smith of Wayside, MS passed away at home surrounded by her family on the evening of June 21, 2024. A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, June 25th at 3:00 PM at Alexander Memorial Baptist Church in Hollandale, MS. Pastor Arthur Scott will be officiating.
Sandra was born on March 11, 1951 in Indianola, MS to James and Helen Lashley. She attended Greenville High School. She was a store manager for many years. Her greatest achievement was being a mom and grandma.
She loved gardening and sewing, but her passion was spending time with her family. She loved to talk and could carry on conversations for hours, and she never met a stranger.
Those left to treasure her memory are her 5 daughters: Tammy (Chris) Owens of Leland, MS, Melissa (David) Patrick of Gulfport, MS, Kristie (Mark) Jones of Arcola, MS, Angela (Charlie) Allen of Wayside, MS, Jennifer Smith (Rick Clary) of Cambridge, Maryland, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, siblings: Marie Hawkins of Antioch, TN, James Lashley of Greenville, MS, Gayle Weeks of Greenville, MS, Herman Lashley of Nashville, TN, and a host of nieces and nephews that she adored.
She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Jerry Lee Smith, her parents, two sisters, and a grandson, Steven Tyler Patrick.
