Funeral services for Sandra Hood Trotter, 66, of Gulfport and formerly of Greenville will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 29 at Boone-Smith Funeral Home, Greenville. She died March 25 at Select Care Hospital in Gulfport. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Greenville under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Sandra Trotter “Sandy” was born in Geenwood, MS to Roland and Billie Hood. She attended Greenville Public Schools and later went on to complete a degree in nursing as well as to earn an associate’s degree in Business from Hinds Community College. She spent the majority of her career employed as an LPN in various medical institutions before completing her career as an LPN at the VA in Biloxi.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a son, Louis Austin Trotter.
Survivors include one son, Dell Trotter and his wife Karrie of Perkinston; one daughter, Cheri Trotter of Gulfport; two sisters, Linda Sellars (Tommy) of Greenville and Carol Kindrex of Mendenhall. She was Mamma to two grandchildren, Gabriel and Zachary, she was an aunt, great-aunt, and great-great aunt to countless nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11:00-1:00 p.m., Wednesday to the funeral home.
