Funeral services for Santo Julius Borganelli, 98, of Greenville, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. There will be a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Greenville Cemetery. He passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Asbury Hospice in Hattiesburg, MS.
Mr. Borganelli was born in Shaw, MS, where he graduated from high school. He finished his education at the University of Mississippi. He met Imogene Johnson in Shaw, and they married in 1953. They eventually made their home in Greenville, where he owned and operated Astro Oil Company. He was also an entrepreneur in other businesses. He served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Siboney during World War II. Mr. Borganelli was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He is survived by five children: Mark (Wanda) Borganelli, Greg (Suzanne) Borganelli, Sanci (Tom) Ledwidge, Bart Borganelli, and Neal Borganelli; two sisters, Shirley Wuestenhoefer and Gloria Driza; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
