Graveside services for Sondra Dismuke Huddleston, 84, a long time resident of Winterville, Mississippi will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 6, 2020 at the Greenville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home. She died June 1, 2020 at Delta Regional Medical Center.
Sondra Dismuke Huddleston was born to the late Edna Mae and William Otho “Bob” Dismuke on August 12, 1936 in Texarkana, Arkansas. She attended Greenville Public Schools and in 1953 graduated in the last graduating class from EE Bass High School. She attended Mississippi University for Women and graduated in 1957 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Sondra married her high school sweetheart, Herbert Hartwell Huddleston, Jr. of Winterville, Mississippi on February 7, 1958. Herbert and Sondra made their home on the family farm in Winterville where they lived together for 63 years.
Sondra was a member of First United Methodist Church, a life member of Greenville Junior Auxiliary, a member of Bon Divant Dinner Club, and the Greenville Garden Club.
Sondra enjoyed tennis, Mahjong, reading and working puzzles. She was also an avid dog lover.
Sondra Huddleston was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Herbert Hartwell Huddleston Jr of Winterville, MS, by her sons, Hartwell (Jodie) Huddleston of Leland, MS and William (Monica) Huddleston of Greenville, MS. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Huddleston of Dayton, OH, Sargent Herbert “Bert” Huddleston of Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay, HI, William “Cass” Huddleston of Lamont, MS and Elizabeth “Faith” Huddleston of Lake Village, AR.
Pallbearers for the graveside service are Shaifer Bell, Cass Huddleston, Bert Huddleston, and Landon Pieroni.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Washington School, 1605 East Reed Road, Greenville, MS 38701 or a charity of your choice.
