Funeral services for Stephen Authur McBride, 78, of Greenville will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 21 at Lake Washington Baptist Church. He died Wednesday, November 18 at Baptist East in Memphis, TN. Burial will be in County Line Cemetery.
Mr. McBride was born in Tuscaloosa, AL where he graduated from Holt High School. After his graduation he started working for Parker Towing on the Black Warrior River. In 1976 he moved to Greenville where he was Port Captain at Flower Transportation then later worked for Artco Towing. In 2002 he retired as River Boat Captain after 45 years on the river. Mr. McBride attended the Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by his wife, Jeaneane Daniels McBride of Greenville; son, Dewayne McBride of Tuscaloosa, AL; 3 daughters, Pammy McBride, Cindy Mullenix, and Melinda McBride all of Tuscaloosa, AL, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
