Stylon Farris Proctor

Funeral services for Stylon Farris Proctor, 86, of Glen Allan will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 25 at Glen Allan Methodist Church. He died Sunday, January 22 at Delta Regional Medical Center. Burial will be in Greenfield Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. 

Mr. Proctor was born in Bells, Crocket County, TN on March 6, 1930 to Stylon Dotson Proctor and Olive Burns Proctor. 

He was a child of the Great Depression, a farm boy from West Tennessee, Decorated US Marine, Gunsmith, Mathematics and Engineering Genius, Welder, Mechanic…. He was a master of growing cotton, soybeans, wheat, oats, and (begrudgingly) cattle and horses. He retired from farming in 1996. 

Mr. Proctor was a member of Glen Allan United Methodist Church where he served as Treasurer, Board of Trustees, Chairman of Trustees, Choir Member and in several other capacities. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister-in-law, Ouida Barr Proctor. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Hufstedler Proctor; two daughters, Regina Dianne (Roger C.) Stevens of Orlando, FL, Sarah Dawn (Garry D.) Nipper of Chatham, MS; two sons, Kendric C. (Michele Cope) Proctor of Glen Allan, MS and Stylon Anthony (Lynn Woodward) Proctor of Columbus, MS; eleven grandchildren, James V. (Brookes) Pittman of Jacksonville, FL, William Pittman of Orlando, FL, Drew (Kristin) Nipper of Glen Allan, MS, Cory Pittman (Jeremy) Peters of Orlando, FL, Leyton (Rebecca) Proctor of Midland, TX, Julia Nipper (Trey) Densford of Greenville, MS, John Jordan Proctor of Oxford, MS, Seth Proctor of Oxford, MS, Leah Proctor (Fielding) Ables of Clinton, MS, Katie Proctor of Starkville, MS and John Stylon Proctor of Columbus, MS; five great grandchildren, Jackson Nipper, Hayes Nipper, Emma Craig Nipper, Miller Jane Ables and Finley Pittman; one sister, Helen Elizabeth Proctor (Leonard) Lomangino of Millbrook, NY; two brothers, William Dotson Proctor of Grenada, MS and Harold Edward (Shirley Ham) Proctor of Davenport, FL; one sister-in-law, Sybil Hufstedler Rogers of Farmington, AR and numerous nieces and nephews.
