Funeral services for Talmadge Osborne Lewis, 75, of Greenville will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church. He died Sunday, November 9, 2014 at his home. Burial will be in Lakeview Gardens under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mr. Lewis was born in Seminary, MS on August 2, 1939. He attended Hollandale High School. He toured Germany during his service with the United States Armed Forces. Upon returning home he married Joyce Dean Wylie. Mr. Lewis was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, his parents, Robert H. Lewis and Chellie Jewell Bruce Lewis; a sister, Mary Carol Lewis and a brother, Bobby Joe Lewis.
He is survived by two sons, Ricky Lewis (Rhonda) and Scott Lewis (Krystal) both of Greenville; daughter, Michelle Tobia (Joe) of French Camp; two brothers, Earl Lewis (Thelma) of Leland and Jerry Lewis (Patricia) of Vicksburg; two sisters, Jeanette Porter of Greenville and Patsy Wylie (JC) of Arcola; longtime friend and companion, Joyce Almond and 7 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 2332 Hwy 82 E., Greenville, MS 38701 or to the American Diabetes Association, P. O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
