Funeral services for Thomas W. Hitt, 82, of Cleveland and formerly of Greenville will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.. He died Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mr. Hitt was born in Belle Fontaine, MS to Winford O. and Francis Hitt. He was the owner of Hitt’s Sheet Metal for over 50 years before retiring. After retirement he did a paper route for the Delta Democrat Times until moving to Cleveland. He enjoyed spending time with family and playing with his great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Gordon Hitt; three sons, Steve, Tommy and Dave Hitt: two daughters, Kristy (Danny) Redwine and Debbie Oldham; six grandsons, Brad (Kalyn) Redwine, Austen Redwine,Gage (Ronni) Hitt, Tyler Oldham, Blake Hitt and Jeremy Hitt; 4 granddaughters, Morgan Hitt, Jessica (Jason) Holeman, Christina (Adam) Hitt and Kim Oldham and 12 great grandchildren.
There will be a visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
