Vane E. Wolfe

Funeral services for Vane E. Wolfe, 78, of Greenville will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 10, 2014 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. He died Thursday, November 6, 2014 at his home.  Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville

Mr. Wolfe was born on May 14, 1936 in Sunflower, MS and graduated from Sunflower High.  Soon after he married his lovely wife, Peggy on December 24, 1955.  He soon started to work at Greenville Mills where he worked for four years.  In 1959 he started working as a letter carrier at the Greenville Post Office from where he retired.

Vane was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved to camp.  He was an active member of the Good Sam’s Club.  He was also a trusted baseball umpire where his fairness grew on every player making everyone want him to umpire every game.  He loved football as well, watching his two Mississippi teams have a winning year, favoring the Rebels a little more, until the day he died.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, two brothers and a sister.  He is survived by his wife of 59 wonderful years, Peggy Wolfe of Greenville; daughter, Teresa B. Rocconi (James) of Cleveland; son, Richard W. Wolfe (Tammy) of Greenville; 5 grandchildren, Tripp Bufkin, Julian and Steven Rocconi all of Cleveland and Ryan and Dusty Wolfe both of Greenville; and by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
