Funeral services for Walter Allan Ford, 73, of Greenville will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 4 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. He died Monday, April 29 at his home surrounded by family and friends. Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Allan was born on May 18, 1945 in Benoit, MS. He attended Benoit School and continued his education at Delta State University where he obtained his pilots license. He worked at Demco for many years. He then became a commercial fisherman and opened a fish market that prospered for twenty years.
Allan enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, flying and everything outdoors. He was known by all, and loved by most. He was a man of principal who definitely left a lasting impression with everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Ford, Sr., mother, Opal Lyles, daughter Delynn Gafford and grandson, Kevin Poore.
He is survived by his wife, Janie Ford of Greenville; two daughters, Donna Ford of Greenville and Lisa Thomas of Water Valley, MS; son, Michael Ford (Jenny) of Greenville; two brothers, Carlon Ford and Floyd Ford, Jr. both of Greenville; three sisters, Ruth Cooper (Tommy) of Huffman, TX, Irene Walker (Danny) and Faye York both of Gunnison, MS; six grandchildren, Justin, Kayla, Ryan, Racheal, Nataleigh, and Brent and three great grandchildren.
There will be a visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, May 3 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
